Highlight # 1

Rental Property owner 1,000 miles away, all it took was a phone call to fix it and save money

Often rental property owners no longer live close to their rental property. We received a request for a bid on a rental property that had unfortunately been left in unrentable condition. The customer was serving in the army and stationed in another state. We had the most competitive bid and the customer chose us. This was all done over the phone.

It turned out that the property was left in poorer shape than realized; a pet mess from a few big dogs had permeated from the carpet into the subfloor. We’d seen it all before. Instead of thinking how to profit from the situation (many customers tell us they have trouble even receiving bids on very rough rentals in the first place), we called the customer with an honest at-cost solution to fix the pet mess and odor problem. All we charged extra was the cost of a bucket of KILZ.

Sight-unseen, we saved this customer around $200 (that’s including a bucket of KILZ), and took the property from unlivable and foul smelling, and made it fresh and smell like a new construction. From initial phone call to completion was 4 days. The customer also asked the independent installer to spot fix some old vinyl flooring which he did. We believe in treating our customers right.

Property Contractor in a jam, he called us and we went above and beyond to help him out of it

Many of the property managers and contractors we work with also have properties outside of Augusta. While in Augusta, we are their local go-to for flooring and installations, in other states they may use other businesses or in-house installers. A person we do businesses with found himself in a jam when one of his in-house installers in another state quit.

This contractor had a property about to be listed. After his in-house installer quit, he had this out-of-state property carpeted by a new hire. Unfortunately, the job was done very poorly. Without a capable installer, and because the job was done in-house, his mostly likely option was to go to another store and have to buy all new carpet and have them install it.

The customer called us looking for advice. Getting these floors right was time and money sensitive. We said not to worry, we will send one of our guys long-distance just to fix it for him. Within the two days, our installer went out there and fixed every seam in the house, re-stretched every room to get out all of the wrinkles, and straightened the carpet where it wasn’t straight. He ended up paying a fraction of the cost he would have. When you work with us, we work with you, long-term.
