We are a full service flooring store established in 1979

We started after a ‘kiddie cruise’. That’s what it was called when you joined the Navy right out of high school and went on a big ship around the world. Our founder was stationed on the USS America (CV-66) during the Vietnam War. He loaded missiles and bombs onto F-4 Phantoms.

After the Navy, our founder got started in flooring working at a carpet store in Long Island, New York. He found out he was good at handling carpet sales and decided to go into business with his high school friend from Sprayberry High School in Marietta, GA. They opened in their first store in Mobile, Alabama. Through hard work, they were successful and continued to expand and open new locations. Back in those days carpet was king, and most flooring stores were simple remnant shops.

A few years in, our founder wanted to pursue a different business model. He believed in selling at low-cost, but higher volume, rather than high-cost, low-volume. Our founder amicably parted ways with his business partner (and still life-long friend) to pursue his model of charging less, but selling more.

It was by now the mid-70’s. His model proved so successful that at one time he had 16 stores in Texas alone. Over the years he had operations running in Texas, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, and of course, Georgia.

This location, Cash & Carry Carpet Outlet, was opened in 1979 with the founder’s brother. It started as just a simple Quonset hut. It eventually expanded with the addition of a large warehouse and office space. Cash & Carry Carpet Outlet has become one of the largest residential and commercial discount carpet and flooring stores in the CSRA.

We sell all flooring products and maintain the largest in-stock flooring inventory in Augusta. We carry all major brands of flooring, including: Engineered Floors, Shaw Floor, StainMaster Carpet, Mohawk Flooring, and many more flooring brands.
